Africa is a still unknown continent, therefore, today we will take a look at some of its curiosities:

In Africa there are more capitals than countries

Some African countries have two capitals, even 3! This is the case of the Republic of South Africa, where Pretoria is the administrative capital, Bloemfontein the judicial one and Cape Town, the legislative one.

One of its capitals can become the largest city in the world

The forecast is that the largest city of the future will not be in the Asian giant… but in Africa! It is estimated that Kinsahsa, the capital of the Republic of the Congo, will become the most populous city in the world in 2075. With an extension similar to Madrid, it is expected that in 2030 it will reach 20 million inhabitants and reach 58 million by 2075. We are talking about a growth of more than 190% in 45 years!

Your most recent capital is less than a year old

To get to know it, we have to go to the Great Lakes Region, specifically to Burundi. Last January, the Burundian parliament decided, in the midst of the great political crisis that the country is going through, to move the capital from Bujumbura to Gitega.
