Etosha is home to one of Namibia’s most iconic attractions, Etosha National Park.

This is one of the best and most important game reserves in southern Africa. Its name means «the great white place» due to the large amount of carbonate that is concentrated on the surface of the land; and it is undeniably one of the southern continent’s most beloved and accessible wildlife sanctuaries.

In fact, it is home to 350 varieties of birds, 110 of reptiles, 16 species of amphibians, 1 species of fish and 114 species of mammals, such as lions, elephants, giraffes, jumping gazelles, oryx, impalas, leopards, hyenas, foxes , jackals, mongooses, badgers, pangolins, warthogs, zebras or wildebeest among many others.

It is also home to the largest population of cheetahs and black rhinoceros on the continent. Few places in southern Africa can compete with the fauna and flora of the extraordinary Etosha National Park.

Etosha is quite simply one of the best places in the world to see wild animals.

When to go:

The best season to visit the park is in the dry season, between September and October, when the animals gather in some waterholes scattered around the place.

With well-marked, easy-to-follow roads with an Etosha map, and easy-to-drive gravel roads, going on an Etosha safari is a breeze even with your own vehicle.

But it is also possible to join safaris with professional guides, who due to their great knowledge of the habitat and their ability to spot, will guide us much better in the search for wildlife scenes.

So at Only One we offer you a 9-day trip to Namibia from Only One, a 9-day tour through which you can see amazing places in Namibia, including the Etosha National Park.

You can also choose to stay at one of the concessions next to the park and experience a luxurious exclusive safari opportunity at the Halali Resort.
