A trip to enjoy the natural and cultural heritage of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is the oldest independent country in Africa and the oldest independent country in the world. Since the introduction of Christianity in the 4th century, it is the only Christian nation in Africa, surrounded by Islamic countries. It is a landlocked country where the Great Rift Valley runs and is approximately three times larger than Japan. An ancient civilization flourished with ruins dating back more than 3 million years.
Ethiopia has a natural heritage and eight cultural heritages. On this tour, the «Simen National Park», which is said to be the roof of Africa, with alpine overlap, the archaeological site of the Aksum Kingdom that flourished in the gold and ivory trade around the 4th century BC, the capital of Ethiopia from 1632 to 1855. You will visit the «Imlehane Christoph» Church that was built by digging a monolith in the northeastern part of the Ethiopian plateau.

Visit Ethiopia’s natural heritage «Simen National Park» and the cultural heritage «Axum», «Gondar» and «Iglesias de Lalibela». In the National Museum, you can see the fossil of Lucy, which is said to be the oldest being of humanity, which is located in the «Awash River Basin», World Heritage Site.

Gerada baboons are found only in grasslands and high-altitude rocks in Ethiopia and Eritrea, and are designated as endangered species. The Gerada baboon, about 50–75 cm long, is said to be the last survivor of herbivorous primates.
In Simien National Park, there are a number of high mountains such as Mount Rasdashan, Ethiopia’s highest peak, and mountains created by elevation and erosion for hundreds of years. This special environment creates its own ecosystem and hosts valuable endemic species such as the Waria Ibex and Gerada baboons.
Highlights
Bahir Dar
Located on the south bank of Lake Tana, where the source of the Blue Nile River is located. The Blue Nile that flows down from Lake Tana reaches 45 m.
Gondar
Located in the northeast of Lake Tana, the altitude is 2000m. The original architectural style of Gondar is influenced by Indian, Arab and Baroque architecture which is maintained to this day.
Simen National Park
Ethiopia’s highest peak, Mount Rasdashan, is at an altitude of 4,620 m, and other mountains are the only natural heritage sites in Ethiopia.
Aksum
A city in northern Ethiopia. It is the most important shrine in Ethiopia and an important place of pilgrimage.
Lalibela
City of Amhara A place of pilgrimage for centuries and one of the sacred places after Aksum.
Tour itinerary
DAY 1
Adis Ababa
Arrival in Adis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.
Meet with the staff and we will transport you to the hotel.
Addis Ababa City Tour. You can see Lucy’s fossilized human bones at the National Museum, which is extremely prized throughout Africa.
Then we will visit the Ethnographic Museum and the Cathedral.

DAY 2
Adis Ababa / Bahir Dar
Choose between Breakfast or box lunch at the hotel. Then we’ll continue to the airport.
Travel to Bahir Dar by plane.
Upon arrival, checking into the hotel will come first.
Then we will drive to the Blue Nile Waterfalls, about 30 km from the city.
Walking about 20 minutes you will see the Blue Nile Falls. (* The best season is from June to January during the rainy season)
Blue Nile Falls is considered the 85% water source of the Nile River and flows into the Mediterranean.
Lunch at the hotel.
After lunch, we will walk through the streets of Bahir Dar. From the former palace of Haile Selassie, the village of Waiteo, known for making papyrus boats called Tankwa, and we will visit the local market.

DAY 3
Full-day boat tour of Lake Tana
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a boat tour all day on Lake Tana.
In the vicinity of the lake, you can visit the Monastery of Keblanc Gabriel and the Monastery of Ula Kidanema Hallet full of vivid frescoes.

DAY 4
Bahir Dar/Gondar
Breakfast at the hotel.
We’ll drive to Gondar. (170 km: about 3 hours)
Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel and have lunch in a restaurant.
After that, we will visit the city of Gondar, world heritage site. Gondar was the city that was the capital of the Abyssinian kingdom during Emperor Fasiladas. The remaining buildings, such as castles, churches and baths built around the 17th century, were built in their day and become ruins that have been considered residences for approximately 200 years.
We will visit the church of Debre Belhan Selassie, Fasil Gebi, etc., where the heavenly paintings of Ethiopia’s most famous angels are drawn.

DAY 5
Simien National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Simen National Park. Simien National Park is also recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The animals you can see are capuchin baboons and endemic plants. After the walk, we’ll go back to Gondar.

DAY 6
Aksum
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take you to the airport, where you will take a flight to Aksum.
Upon arrival, we will take you to the hotel.
Once there, we will do sightseeing in the city of Aksum. (The ruins of the temple of the Queen of Shiva, Obelisk, St. Mary, etc.)
Then we’ll go back to the hotel.

DAY 7
Hosana Festival, Lalibela
After breakfast, we will guide you to the Hosana Festival.
After that, we will go to Aksum Airport and travel to Lalibela by plane.
They will be sent to the hotel upon arrival.
We’ll have lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon, we will visit the churches of Lalibela, which are also A World Heritage Site.
It is said that this stone building, which was made around the twelfth century, was made by emptying rocks and is considered a rare building in the world.

DAY 8
Imrehane Christoph Church, free time
Breakfast at the hotel.
After an hour of vehicle movement, we will walk 20 minutes to Imrehane Christoph Church. This church was built in the eleventh century, and in front of the church there is a building believed to have been the palace of King Imrehane Christoph.
Lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon, we will visit the churches again, after that free time.

Leaving Adis Ababa
After breakfast, we will take you to the airport, where we will return to Adis Ababa by plane, and then go to the hotel. (Daytime use)
