Project Description
Meet the wild gorillas in Rwanda volcano National Park!
3-day, 4-night trip
The tour starts from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, and we move to Volcano National Park the next day with a private car.
After the arrival we will go on expedition in search of gorillas. In the park, gorilla tracking is limited to 8 people per day, the time limit that can be spent with the gorilla is 1 hour.
You can look for gorillas with a group of specialized guides.
The meeting rate with gorillas is more than 90%, and if you’re lucky, you can meet a cute gorilla baby!
A special permit is required to enter the national park, and the benefits obtained are used to protect endangered gorillas.
The point of this tour
1The precious mountain gorillas
Mountain gorillas are a species of primate that is the closest to humans, and evolved from humans about 8 million years ago. It currently lives only in the forests of the Virunga Mountains that stretch through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In the 1980s, due to civil wars, overfishing, human disease transmission and deforestation, the number was temporarily reduced and designated as an endangered species.
Mountain gorillas have long hair and short arms and have better physical constitution than other gorillas.
2Small group of people
Gorilla tracking requires special permission to enter. For security reasons, an expert guide will accompany you, the maximum number of people who can enter is limited to 8 per day. The area to which the guide takes us will offer us a safe and relaxing tour.
The shortest excursion is 2 hours, the average is 4 hours and the length is 7 hours. However, as the group moves within the territory, the time required will vary.
Highlights within the tour

Currently, 13 groups of mountain gorillas have been identified in the park, in large groups of approximately 30 heads. You can visit eleven of the groups, each called Amahoro, Susa, Karisimbi, Hiruwa.
